Jean –Baptiste Paquelin (AKA) Moliere was born in January 15, 1622, that is considered one of Frances greatest playwrights. Moliere also died in Paris France on February 17, 1673. Moliere was denied a proper burial and was only grudgingly allowed a burial plot in sanctified ground. His plays, however, have transcended the times and the society for which they were written and the very probes into human nature which caused him such difficulty during his lifetime have gained for him a lasting reputation as dramatist and satirist. Because he had both acting talent and legal knowledge, and he also became renowned for directing and writing works. His father tended the king’s furniture and upholstery. He was educated at France’s finest schools like Lycee Louis –Le-Grand, including the Jesuit College du Clermont in Paris. His mother who was very religious had died when he was ten years old. Moliere would continue in his father’s trade Moliere would often watch the street comedians trying to sell patent medicines, and frequently attended plays at the Hotel de Bourgogne with his grandfather.
