I am very interested in dance, especially ballet because it is so elegant and beautiful. I looked online for different ballet schools in France and found quite a few. After looking over many different academies and performance companies I kept finding myself at videos, pictures, or web pages about the Paris Opera Ballet School. This school being one of the most prestigious ballet academies in the world instantly grabbed my attention and I hope it grabs yours as well.
Audition
I love watching dancers audition because that is where every dancer wants to impress the viewer. This young male dancer was 16 years old when he sent this video in to the Paris Opera Ballet School to try and be accepted into the program. If you enjoyed watching this audition tape there are many others. To get the tapes, just search Paris Opera Ballet Auditions into the YouTube search bar. In case you're interested on how this dancer applied or the requirements, the information is given in the link below.

Short Documentary
In this link, you will see a short documentary video on the Paris Opera Ballet School. What is so neat about this school is that the students take regular academic classes in the mornings and take ballet training classes in the afternoons. The first teacher you will see is named Fanny. Fanny was once a student at the school and had a position as a principle dancer in the Paris Opera Ballet, which is the professional company. I wish this video was a tad longer because I find the school so interesting.
History
After clicking on this link, you will see an article written that gives some background and history of the Paris Opera Ballet School. One of the most interesting pieces from this article, is that this school was the first to teach ballet.
