The topic that I have chosen for this project is French music. I chose this topic because I enjoy music to a great extent. It's basically my life, so I found it fitting to do a project about music in a culture that I am also interested in. I looked up a variety of French artists to search about, and I found that their music is not much different from hours. They only have about 1 or 2 genres that are unique to them. The first link I have found is the website for Daft Punk's newest album Random Access Memories. Here you can find a download link to download all of the songs in the album via iTunes. Then, of you go to the top-right corner of the screen, you will find a link called "Watch: THE COLLABORATORS SERIES". This is a series interviewing 8 people that all helped them produce the album, it has captions in French. My second link is a youtube video. This is a song by French-pop singer Alizée. I picked this song because I found her singing pretty dang good. Alizée has one 10 awards in her career. She began her career in 1999. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrLyIZGg2PQ \ This is a song by the French metal band Gojira. They are one of France's most famous metal bands. They are all from France, though their music is sang in English. They began in 1996 and are still together, though their last album was released last year. Gojira has been influenced by metal artists such as Sepultura, Death, Morbid Angel, Meshuggah, Tool, Metallica, Pantera, and Neurosis.

Gojira sounds pretty good. Almost like All that Remains, if you've ever heard them. Imight have to try listening to them a bit.

Cool project! I loved the French subtitles on the videos of the people who worked with Daft Punk on Get Lucky. I watched a few, including the one with Pharrell. Man, that guy is so cool! I also really liked the James Bond vibe on Alizee's song. It was pretty catchy sounding.
