I've chosen to research the French National Soccer Team because soccer is my favorite sport, I play and watch soccer, and am very interested in learning about the sport in different countries and learning the history of French Soccer. Thierry Henry is a French soccer player who has played for some of the top clubs in the entire world, and he is one of the greatest players to play the game.
1998 FIFA World Cup Final: France vs. Brazil
This link shows the highlights of the last FIFA World that France won. On July 12th, 1998, France overtook Brazil in their home country winning by a score of 3-1. Zinedine Zidane scored two goals, and Emmanuel Petit scored a last minute goal making the final score a blowout. I found this video very interesting because the talent that this team possessed was outstanding. They pass with such precision and strength and create so many scoring opportunities, it's fascinating to me. The other thing that is so cool to me is how packed the stadium. Soccer gets so little respect in the United States compared to football, baseball, and basketball, that it's awesome to know that in most other countries in the world, soccer is one thing that unites everybody.
Thierry Henry Biography
Thierry Henry is a 36 year old French soccer player. This link is a reading link and has background information on his early life, younger years, and the clubs he have played for. He is a striker, which is my position as well, so I love watching him play. He has a strong, powerful shot and an amazing work ethic. He works so hard every game I've ever watched him play on TV. He's the type of player that isn't like everybody else in world soccer. He's has his own style of play.
Thierry Henry: Give Your Best
This is also a YouTube video, and it's a motivational video from Thierry Henry himself. He is interviewed and shows some of his playing style. I love videos such as these because it motivates me to work even harder. Not just in soccer, but in everything. Thierry Henry is a motivational man with a strong story from being in his very early 20's on the French National Team. That doesn't happen everyday with soccer players, and I find him absolutely remarkable. He works with young kids, loves his fans, and loves what he does.
