For my French culture Project I did my report on miss Simone de Beauvoir. Simone Is famously known for her many, many, many works of literature as well as her stance on concerns like feminism, political activism, philosophy.
The Second Sex: Simone has written many books one of he most biggest books was The second Sex, the novel focused on Simone's on female equality specifically speaking on how society speaks out about women being inferior to men. Links to book info below.

FUN FACT: The original English translation of this book for American audiences was mistranslated by an amatuer French speaker and for many years this version was kept out and published. Until 2009 when a second translation was finally made in honor of the book's 60th anniversary.
She Came To Stay: This novel was Simone's first published work were the story is more of a drama and less of a informational text. In the story it focuses on topics like love, sexuality, and menage a trois, the novel was Simone's way of explaining her relationship with her lifelong partner Jean-Paul Satre. As a famous personal fact Simone and Jean were in a open relationship and was bisexual. Links to book info below.

Personal Info: Some more lifestyle information someone is that she was born on January 9, 1908 and died in 1986 April, 4th. During her life time many of the people around her said she was a intellectual prodigy, while attending the University of Paris she met and fell in love with her partner Jean( they never married because Simone couldn't provide a dowry). Because Simone didn't live the life of a average wife in the 1900's she was able to spend more time on her academics and philosophy that would later spawn her career.
