After a little research on French cellists, I decided on Augustin Maurs, a French cellist and composer. I decided to pick a cellist because I play the cello and I love learning about other people who play the same instrument.
Augustin Maurs Playing Bach 1st Suite for Cello
This video is a live recording of Augustin playing the cello in France back in 2007. As there isn't much more I can say about where this link takes you, I find Augustin's version of this piece to be one of the best I have heard thus far.
Augustin Maurs SOLO Project
This link will take you to a PDF about Augustin's project called SOLO. During this project, over a course of two weeks, every night Augustin would play one of Bach's Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, but with a twist. The entire room was dark. In this PDF file, you can see how the stage was set up, what the whole project was about, and reviews from a couple of people who attended. The admission for these concerts was completely free, which made for a high number of people who had attended.
