-Samuel de Champlain, "The Father of New France", was a French navigator, cartographer, soldier, explorer, geographer, ethnologist, diplomat,and chronicler. He founded New France and Quebec City on July 3, 1608. -He was born in Brouage, France on or before August 13, 1574. -There was a lot going on in the world during his lifetime, including the colonization of America, as you can see in the timeline shown here - In this video you can see a lot of the major things he did in his life, including the voyage he took when he consolidated the French colonies in the New world. -You can see the route Samuel de Champlain took here - This is a picture where you can see where New France and New England were located at the time.
