I have always loved fashion and clothes so I chose Christian Dior, a very important important person in the fashion industry. His brand is known for it's expensive and very dramatic clothes. Christian Dior was born in Northern France, on January 1st, 1905. His rise to fame began after he came back from war, and began selling his fashion illustrations for money. He eventually landed a job with Figaro Illustré, a fashion magazine, and then decided to open his own fashion house. Christian Dior's designs set the bar for French fashion, and his legacy still lives on today.

Christian Dior was very famous in the fashion industry because he was different, and called his first collection "The New Look" which was launched in 1947. This gallery is the collection of all of Christian Dior's earliest work. Many of his designs had a theme, such as "Tulip", "A-Line" or "figure 8", which described the shape of the designs. The slideshow on the website shows Dior's beautiful designs and original clothing and talks about Christian Dior's inspiration for his collections.
Christian Dior Spring/Summer Collection 2011
The Christian Dior brand has gone through many changes throughout the years. There have been many head designers, different changes to its style, and various themes for its collections. This video shows the 2011 Spring/Summer Couture collection designed by John Galliano. This is one of my favorite Christian Dior collections, for its intricate patterns, and its play on light and shade in clothing. John Galliano's designs payed homage to the illustrations of René Gruau, whose work for Christian Dior in the forties and fifties created the most iconic imagery in the Dior brand.
Raf Simons on Dior Fall 2013 Couture
As the current creative director of the Christian Dior brand, Raf Simons has changed the concept and look of the collections drastically. Raf Simon's work for Dior has centered around individuality and celebrating femininity. In the link above, Raf Simons talks about his inspiration for the Fall 2013 couture collection and his views on fashion in general. The runway slideshow shows all of Raf Simons looks, and talks about the three sections that the collection was divided into.
