I’ve always had a passion for baking, but I really have an interest in French pastries and French desserts. French pastries and desserts are very beautiful, complex, and unique. So I did some research on the most popular and widely known French desserts and pastries. :)
Macarons - The French macaron is a very sweet meringue based cookie that can be filled with any filling, sweet or savory:
Laudree Bakery
Laduree is a bakery located in France who are mainly known for their delicious macarons. On the website you can see the range of flavors Laduree create. From Orange Blossom to Rose Petal, Laduree puts their own twist to the French macaron. They also have other different French pastries that you can order on their website.
Financier - A financier is a cake, similar to a sponge cake, that usually consists of almond flour or almond flavoring:

Martha Stewart and guest, Beatrice Peltre shows you how to create a different type of Financier. They add brown butter, poppy seeds and egg whites to create a lighter, healthier cake. They also top the cakes with confectioner’s sugar and pistachios.
Éclair: An Éclair is a donut like pastry that are usually filled with cream and topped with icing. The donut uses choux dough, light pastry dough that is used in a variety of different French desserts, that is piped out of a pastry bag and baked.
Mini Tiramisu Eclair Recipe
This is a recipe on how to make mini tiramisu éclairs. The recipe is actually a combination of two different cultures. Tiramisu is a very popular Italian dessert that can be nicely paired with the éclair. I think it’s a very unique recipe and I might try it one day.
Croissant: A croissant is popular a more well-known French pastry. It’s a flaky, bread like pastry that can be transformed into sweet dessert, a savory side dish, or can be left plain to eat for breakfast in the morning. With its unique shape it’s not only a staple in the French community it is also very popular worldwide.
History of the Crossiant
Here is an article about the history of the croissant. Believe it or not, this simple pastry has a lot of historical background. Most of its historical information is a mystery, but this website gives you as much information as possible. They also give you a link for a recipe and a more detailed story about the legends being passed down.
