I love fashion and I know Christian Dior is from Paris so I decided to do more research on him, to learn more about his life and how it affected the United States. www.vogue.co.uk/spy/biographies/christian-diorOn this website you learn a lot about Christian Diors life. He was a very intuitive man. In the background there is a picture of him in one of his articles of clothing. He was first an artist but after the great depression and his parents dying his had to close his gallery because his fathers company was demolished. www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/dior/hd_dior.htmOn this website they talk about when Christian was first discovered and how important he is to fashion. Before he was a designer he was in the war also. www.vogue.com/voguepedia/Christian_Dior_(Brand)On this website they tell about Christian Diors first fashion show. The fashion show was in February 1947. Paris had snow everywhere! Being that the war was still going on the designs he had were outrageous because of the war made everything stricter. After everyone seen the elegant clothing they knew it was still hope for nice elegant fashion to continue. www.dior.com/magazine/en_us/News/Happy-Birthday-New-LookChristian Diors first collection was made of skirts, perfume, and blouses. There were many people there and they were very open to what he was making. It was a big mark in history!

The dresses on the Metropolitann Museum of Art made me drool!! The Venus and Junon dresses... oh my!!! I loved looking at them all!! I had no idea that Dior's history was so entangled with WW2 - him serving and his sister being a prisoner of war. Thanks for the project!
