Parkour (French Free running) Ever since I was little, I’ve usually been interested in some kind of sport. I originally looked up some of my favorite sports, such as wrestling or martial arts, but neither yielded anything that was uniquely French. So, I looked up “French sports”, and lo and behold, I found parkour. I had heard of parkour before, and I was very interested in it for a time. So, I decided to do my project on this! Here I have a wiki article on parkour. It explains the history of the practice very well. It also explains the difference between parkour and free running. It explains how and where parkour is practiced, and even gives information about key people in the practice. This is a video of a guy demonstrating traditional parkour, which is essentially moving and running in an efficient way, such as going over obstacles as opposed to finding an alternate, possibly slower route. Here is another video of parkour. This happens to be an event from the North American Parkour Championship. Parkour is generally not competitive, and is more often regarded as a form of exercise or bragging rights. But naturally, most people want to know who’s the best, so these types of competitions are formed.

I didn't know Parkour was an actual sport. It takes some serious talent to do that kind of stuff. The article was very interesting
